"'The hardest part about growing up is remembering who you are and where you come from' I tell myself this constantly to remember why I attend school everyday. Remember why I rush to my best friends house after her heart has been broken. Why I write poetry. And why ever day of my life I appreciate what I have and who I have in my life. For many don't have as much as I do. And many do; yet forget that they do. Remember who you were when you couldn't walk. Remember who picked you up and cleaned up your scrapes when you fell off your bike. Remember who didn't. But sure as hell remember who you want to be. Who YOU want to be and who you've always wanted to be. It does not matter to me whether or not you lied to your best friend, or cheated on your high school boyfriend. But that you accept your past. That you remember who you are and where you came from. And that you squeeze every last ounce of life out of the horribly damned place we call the world. You deserve it."
